2. 2. 3 套用汉语状语语序
汉语中的时间状语一般位于地点状语之前,
英语则正好相反。学生做汉译英时常常套用汉语状语语序,如下例:
(13) 这部电影我是去年夏天在武汉看的。
许多学生译成: I saw the movie last summer inWuhan.
2. 2. 4 套用汉语原句语序这是极易牵制学生的另一类汉语负迁移。许多学生用汉语的句子排列方式去组织英语句子的语序,误认为把流畅而生动的汉语句子照原样搬到英语中会有同样效果。试比较以下译文:
(14) 读了这本书,有个头疼脑热的就不用找大夫了。
学生译文:After reading this book , whenever youget headache or fever , you needn’t hurry to go to seethe doctor.
参考译文:After you read this book , you’ll beable to deal with the slight illness by yourself .
(15) 二话不说先递名片反倒显得有些勉强。
学生译文:First giving their visiting cards withoutsaying a word may seem farfetched on the contrary.
参考译文: It will seem very unnatural to do so before any real conversation gets under way.
